Our passion is helping boards improve.

We are board members who understand and empathize with boards, who have sat in your seats and understand what you do.

We begin by developing a unique pre-retreat survey to understand the perceptions and opinions of the board members regarding their purpose, roles, goals and expected behavior. During the retreat, we talk about the impacts that varying ideas can have on the board, the administration, and the organization. Our goal is to have the board members come to agreement about their purpose and roles and then, a create plan of how they want to move ahead as a board. This plan includes their goals and behavioral standards.

Some boards believe that they can effectively facilitate their own retreats. Our experience is that an objective, outside facilitation creates a more meaningful and less contentious process with better outcomes.

All boards want to do good work and every board member should strive to improve in a deliberate and continuous manner. We provide an objective viewpoint which facilitates boards to effect thoughtful improvement.

Realize the modifications and commit to periodic review and improvement.
